McCumber writes about his year-long experiences on the Birch Creek ranch, located not too far from White Sulphur Springs, MT. Highly recommend!
I recently read a novel that acknowledged this book for helping in writing about modern day cowboy life in Montana. This book didn't disappoint as it's very well written and totally honest about the hardships one will face in western cattle ranch work.
This is just the greatest, informative book I have read in years. I am 83 years old and have read MANY!
